Sunday Fun-Day

I woke up this morning around 8:30, which is earlier than I wanted to get up, especially after my eyes were burning, fighting to stay awake last night.

I started my day with some freelance writing, which I love because I get to make extra money on the side on my own time. The freelance company I currently work offers interesting topics that I actually care about when I'm writing, and they pay really well too. I can pick up as many articles as I want, and they have a great team of writing support available to help if I'm struggling.

I'm currently reading Everybody Writes by Ann Handley. It's beginning to inspire me to write more, even if it's just a few simple sentences a day. While I already do this for my full-time job and freelance job, I've decided it would be good for me to do some personal writing every day as well. According to Handley, this is important in finding your voice. Who knows, maybe I'll write a book some day.

Then again, maybe I won't. The other day at work, I wrote an entire blog post on desserts only to have it edited by a superior and be told I was confusing "dessert" with "desert." To be fair, I had been stressed all week prepping for her office baby shower, which was to occur the day I wrote the paper. Regardless, I felt stupid and unqualified to do my job the rest of the day.

The plus side to all of this? I'll never be making that grammatical error again.

Also on today's to-do list - RedZone and Primos. After all, it is a Sunday during prime football season. If you told me a year or two ago this was how I would be spending my Sundays, I would have laughed in your face and told you I would never understand football. Never say never, people. I look forward to football every week now, especially my Philadelphia Eagles! Whether this can be attributed to the fact that I get a free coffee every time they win or not I cannot say. What I can say is that I've learned a lot about how the game is played, and how exciting it can be to watch. This is my third season playing Fantasy Football, something else I attribute to developing my love for the game.

A lot of my friends are repulsed by the fact that I enjoy watching football. To that I say "get yourself a blog and tell THAT about it, because I don't care."

Girls are really way too hard on other girls.

Amongst laundry, freelancing, and football, I'm kind of happy it's Sunday.
